Trinket #365 - Celebration Necklace

It's THE END! (Or is it only the beginning?)

I still can't believe that a whole year has passed since I started this strange journey. The things I've learned and the things I've improved upon are so plentiful that I think they're deserving of their own post. I can't really think of a better way to start off the new year.

Thanks to all of my friends and followers who have been so supportive throughout this project! A special thanks goes out to my family for putting up with my whining, complaining, staying up late, getting up early, and ever-growing stash of supplies that I've squirreled away in every nook and cranny of the house.

Yes, there will be another 365 Project for me next year. I've decided to nurture a different facet of my creativity, however, and will not be making daily crafts. Check out the unveiling tomorrow :D

Trinket #360 - Super-Stylized Leaf Pendant

A quick bent wire pendant. Because I don't have the energy for anything else. Blah.

Trinket #358 - Mr. Mushroom Pendant

I made this little guy for my daughter using an eraser, head pin, and a bit of jeweler's adhesive. She'll get him in her stocking tomorrow if she's lucky ;)

Trinket #351 - Necklace with Seed Bead Accent

I couldn't decide if I wanted to make a bracelet or a necklace, so I combined some of the techniques for each and made this instead. I'm not sure how much I like it just yet. A trial-run of wearing for a day is definitely in order before I make another.

Trinket # 350 - Knotted Pendant

I pulled out the jig for this pendant, but ultimately ended up making the finished product with only wire and round pliers. The four failed attempts with the jig were enough for me to finally learn a lesson, I suppose.

The bottom of the pendant features an opaque glass bead for weight and color.

Trinket #346 - Christmas Necklace

I'm not really big on the whole "holiday spirit" thing, but my daughter certainly is. I made this quick necklace with embroidery floss and a big crackled glass bead for her.

Trinket #344 - London Calling Necklace

I found this little charm with the Union Jack in a bag that was stashed away earlier in the year, so I dug it out tonight and put this quick trinket together for my daughter.

Trinket #342 - Nature Necklace

It was a long day followed by a long evening, so a quick trinket was definitely in order. Following the recent trend, I worked with the first things I found when I reached into the supply stash. In this case, it was a bundle of hemp and a little card of charms that included this lovely bird!

Trinket #338 - Vintage Variety Show Necklace

Since I'm nearing the end of the year, I figured I should probably pull out all of the things that have been set aside throughout the project. Tonight, a hatchet charm and a revolver charm that my husband found in the workshop when we moved to our house nine years ago joined  forces with a tiny rubber frog that had been in the bottom of my Junk Box since the dawn of time.

Trinket #335 - Petrolated Tourmaline Necklace

I decided today to play "Grab Bag Trinket", meaning that I reached into a supply bag and pulled out two things to use together. In this case, it was a packet of faceted tourmaline beads and a pre-fab necklace. I cut out about six inches of excess length from the chain, wired on the beads in a simple sort of 1920s arrangement, and called it a day.

Not sure if you can see it in the photo, but the colors of this stone are amazing - they look just like the sun shining onto parking lot puddles. You know, the ones with the thin film of oil on the tops? Fascinating!

Did I mention - ONLY 30 DAYS TO GO?!

Trinket #322 - Green Aventurine Necklace

A chunk of aventurine holds the spotlight on this 30-inch long silver chain. Simple and green - two of my favorite things!

Trinket #319 - Citrine Drops Necklace

Today's trinket is made from citrine beads and a pre-fab necklace chain and clasp. I was feeling the need for something with a vintage flair today, but it had to be quick.

Trinket #318 - Coral and Shell Necklace

Today started off great, but by about Noon, the ever-changing Virginia weather left we with a killer sinus headache. That headache has since grown into something so sinister that it's making me nauseous, so a quick craft was certainly required. This one is made with bits and pieces from the junk box and was created to go with a funky linen dress that I hope to wear later in the week.

Trinket #313 - Stones and Bones Pendant

This is another quick creation from the junk box. I'm still trying to fight whatever sickness has had me down for the past two weeks, but I'm doing a poor job of it. Quick trinkets are better than no trinkets.

Trinket #304 - Vintage Halloween Pendant

Somehow, I managed to have a fun and RELAXING Halloween! I didn't have to answer to anyone, go anywhere, or do anything other than stuff that I wanted to do. Perfect.

I put together this trinket as the trick-or-treaters tapered off for the night. (The rain didn't seem to stop many.) The centerpiece of the pendant is a pair of large (about 2-1/2 inches long) glass microscope slides with a vintage image of a witch on one side and pumpkins on the other sandwiched in between them. I made a Czech glass pumpkin charm, added a tiny glass leaf, and added it as an accent to the slides.

Trinket #299 - Quartz and Silver Pendant

Odds and ends from the Junk Box assembled as a deco-inspired pendant. The 1920s and 1930s were definitely great decades for jewelry.

Trinket #290 - Beaded Spider Pendant

My husband says that this reminds him of the spider from Krull. I don't know if that's a compliment or not, but I digress... This is another attempt at the same project I used for the brooch, but this creepy creature has shorter legs a loop on its rear so it can be worn on a necklace.

Trinket #288 - Mexicali Lariat

Today's quickie trinket is a lariat necklace made from red hemp cord and light blue and turquoise glass beads. It can be worn two ways: long or wrapped through itself (shown here.)

Trinket #287 - Color Combo Necklace

Supplies have been uninspiring lately, so I turned to the junk box again for today's trinket. This necklace is made from red silky cord and faceted acrylic beads in whatever colors I happened to grab. I think it turned out pretty cool for an act of desperation. In fact, I think I may make another about three times as long so I can wear it in different ways!

Trinket #286 - Big Honkin' Heart Necklace

This is a big, old, heavy bead recycled from the junk box. I added a pin, jump ring, and the ribbon necklace. Quick! I needed a speedy trinket, too, as the October frenzy seems to have gotten to my brain and caused me to lose count of my projects. Thanks to Tara for pointing out my mistake before it was way too late to correct it. I'm back on track!
