Trinket #360 - Super-Stylized Leaf Pendant

A quick bent wire pendant. Because I don't have the energy for anything else. Blah.

Trinket #355 - Leather Leaf and Bronze Ring

This project was super-quick and simple. I cut the tiny leaf from a scrap of leather using kitchen shears (hence the toothed edge on the finished product), marked the veins on the leaf using a potter's pin tool, and then glued it to a bronze ring blank using jewelers adhesive. It won't be going anywhere for a long time and will even hold up to water.

Trinket #353 - Leaf Skeleton Ring

I found this piece of a gold leaf skeleton in a parking lot a few weeks ago. I love the way some of the gold has been worn away, and I thought it would pair well with some vintage-looking glass beads and a bronze ring blank. I am pleased!

Also, I recently picked up a bundle of these antiqued bronze ring blanks and discovered that they are quite fun to use. I'm betting you can expect to see more trinkets using them over the next few days...

Trinket #349 - Necklace Upgrade

I wore this aventurine necklace today and decided it needed a little more pizazz to help counterbalance such a long chain. I salvaged these silver leaves from an over-the-top gaudy necklace. The result? Two things that I didn't like so much before that came together to make something I do like. Excellent!

PS - I will be trinketing over the next couple of days, but will not be able to post again until Sunday evening. I'm leaving in the (way too) early AM for Denver!

Trinket #326 - Missing Spring Earrings

Everything is turning brown and crunchy here in central Virginia, and I certainly miss the young leaves and colorful blooms of spring. :(

Trinket #301 - Falling Leaf Pendant

Not the best wire-wrapping job I've ever done, but I'm running on empty and can barely see my own hands, let alone trinket components. I only have to make it through the next 48 hours of appearances and events, and then I'll be able to take a deep breath and chill for a minute or two.

Trinket #278 - Leafy Earrings

So. Brain-dead. All I could muster that could even be considered remotely creative today were these leaf earrings made from two layers of jersey knit (t-shirt scraps) and a few odd seed beads. Here they are, hiding out in an orchid...

I hope that the rest of October whizzes by and life can get back to normal soon!

Trinket #166 - Gardener's Necklace

This green hemp cord is adorned with a green glass bead and a tiny silver leaf, perfect to wear with your green thumbs. It's nearing the last days of school for the kiddo, so the energy around this place is nuts. I think you'll be seeing a few more uber-quick trinkets before the week is out...

Trinket #162 - Falling Leaf Pendant

It was another busy Saturday, but I still managed to fit in time (at the last minute!) to put together this simple pendant. It is made with an amber-colored glass leaf, silver wire, and a mix of beads from the bottom of the junk box. I'm surprisingly fond of this quick project and hope to give it many hours of wear.

Trinket #132 - Green Leaf Earrings

Dear Blogger Outage,

You put a serious cramp in my 365 project. We can still be friends if you make sure this doesn't happen again.

Your pal,

Beth

Trinket #109 - Silver Platter Necklace

Another quick project tonight. My week is shaping up to be more busy than usual, so I'm just going to have to knock the trinkets out as efficiently as possible over the next few days. This necklace was made from a burgundy satin ribbon and a silver leaf cut from an old trophy platter I picked up at a thrift shop.

Trinket #82 - Experimental Earrings

Yes, this design was an experiment better left for a day when I had more patience (and eyesight) to deal with such a monster. Dealing with tiny chain that was nearly impossible to see, wrestling with wires, and breaking glass beads were only small samples of the frustrations of the project.

But hey, the pair is done. Ha! Take that, silly earrings!

Trinket #76 - Leafy Hemp and Leather Necklace

Looks like I'm getting in touch with my inner Earth-Mother this week. I even reached back to my Grateful Dead days and pulled out the hemp cording for this one! The focal point of this necklace is another scrap of leather (from those salvaged riding chaps) which I cut into a leaf shape. A green wooden bead was added to give the pendant some weight and to add a bit of understated shine. This was a fun trinket to make - it reminded me so much of the old days of selling "hippie jewelry" out of the back of our car.

If you've noticed a trend, it's probably because I'm feeling awfully botanical this week. No, I'm not turning green, but I have far more dirt under my nails than usual!

Trinket #75 - Leafy Leather Cuff

I promised you something different, right? Here you go - my first attempt at leather work. This simple cuff is made from a small scrap of some recycled riding chaps that was cut to size, punched for the lacing, and adorned with a free-form leaf cut from the remnants of the remnants!

I have a few tiny pieces left that I'm hoping to use in another project soon so that none of that original scrap is left over when I'm done. Hey, Thrift is my middle name.

Trinket #71 - Leafy Earrings

Wow! I was only away for a couple of days, but everything turned green while I was gone! Daffodils are up and blooming, the hydrangeas are unfurling, and I can even see flower buds ripening on the azaleas. Our lawn was a dismal shade of beige three days ago, but now it is a gorgeous peridot color. The rain may have swollen the river more than 15 feet above flood level, but it sure worked some magic everywhere else around town.

My "welcome home" trinket is this pair of earrings made from green glass beads and silver leaves. So glad to be back with my crafting supplies, my regular computer, and mostly my family!
