The hubby and I spent most of the day and evening on housework today. More specifically, we were making an attempt to unclutter and better organize the stuff we decided to keep. Part of the process involved taking a close look at all of the clothing we own and deciding exactly how much we could pare it down without making a huge sacrifice when it comes to hygiene. I discovered during that step that I have a LOT of fancy-dress clothing, but I never do anything or go anywhere that justifies it. I've grown quite attached to some of these dresses, but can't keep them in good conscience if I never wear them, so I'll be giving some a test run over the next week or two.
If you see me out at the grocery store in a party dress, old boots, and my favorite corduroy jacket, you'll know why.

Trinket #163 - Black Tie Pendant
Today was very nearly a Trinket-a-Day first: I almost forgot to make something! I was busy getting ready for bed when I realized something was missing. Not making a project each day will probably be the strangest thing to get used to when this year is over, but something tells me I will keep going...
This trinket was made with the same type of giant crackled glass beads as the Black Tie Earrings, but I think it might be overdoing it to wear them together.

Trinket #161 - Black Tie Earrings
After the last few days of plastic, hemp, and pony beads, I thought I would dress things up a bit and put together a trinket with a little more class. I decided on these simple but elegant drop earrings that highlight a pair of gorgeous crackled glass spheres. Each bead measures 3/4 of an inch across, but their weight and balance on the long boomerang-shaped ear wires worked out perfectly! I may have just the place to wear these later this month, but I'm not giving away all of my secrets just yet...
