This is another sporadic Halloween-inspired trinket. I used a little witch charm as the focal point and added a pop of color with a disk of mother of pearl to represent the full moon. Oh, and there's one of those bazillion ribbon/cord necklaces.
I'm starting to wonder if there's something wrong with me this year. Usually, by this time anyway, I'd be working on Halloween props and decorations in full-swing. This time around, I just don't feel the spark. Not yet, anyway...

Trinket #226 - Moonshadow Earrings
I found these little moon charms in a box of important papers about a week ago. I have no idea where they came from or how they got there, but their timing was excellent. They are now the feature fobs on a pair of simple earrings made from eye pins.
Still no silver wire, and it's probably going to be a while before I get any. Cross your fingers for me.

Trinket #211 - Black Moon Quartz Pendant
In honor of today's Black Moon (2nd New Moon in one month) I paid a visit to my local metaphysical shop in search of some inspiration. I was particularly drawn to quartz points today, so I decided to come home and put together this pendant using one as a centerpiece. To add a little variety and color, I combined it with three dark purple amethyst nuggets.

Trinket #77 - Mother of Supermoon Earrings
You've been informed about the current state of the moon, right? It is at it's closest to the Earth as it will be for another six years or so and will appear huge in the night sky for a few evenings this week. The cool astronomical term for this - SUPERMOON. Personally, I would have gone with "Megamoon", but I'll take it.
Today's trinket pays homage to this natural wonder with it's soft golden disks of mother of pearl that represent the enormous full moon of tomorrow. They are adorned with a bit of silver chain as moonbeams to give a little movement to each.
Also, for the curious, the background photo is a brilliant gelatin silver print by Willie Anne Wright called "Chancellorsville, 1988, George A. Custer". It is currently showing as part of Civil War Redux: Pinhole Photos of Reenactments at the Virginia Museum of Fine Arts!

Trinket #47 - Full Moon Ring
It's not technically a full moon just yet, but lady Luna sure looks lovely today. I had lots of errands and kid-shuttling to do all afternoon that was made much more pleasant by seeing the moon bright and glowing during the daylight. My tribute to that little bonus of the day - this moon ring.
This is another of the FIMO beads that I made back in December, only much smaller than the one used previously on the Full Moon necklace. It is set with two small silver seed beads on silver wire. I'll be wearing this one tomorrow with my pearls and glass!

Trinket #18 - Full Moon Madness
Today started off wacky what with it looking like the Fortress of Solitude outdoors and my daughter's school being delayed two hours because of it. My schedule was thrown for a loop, a million-and-one obstacles came up before noon, and a hand injury was thrown in just for good measure - but I am nothing if not flexible.
I figure it's safe to blame the day's "off" feeling on the nearly-here full moon. Yes, I am superstitious, but centuries of observation have come to the same conclusion: people act strangely at specific points in the lunar cycle. This behavior, however, does not seem to be caused by the moon itself, but rather a person's preconceived notions regarding the link between our nearest celestial neighbor and the psyche. In other words, if you believe you're cranky because of the full moon, you will be cranky during that lunar phase. Self-perpetuating frustration! Aaarrgh!
I decided to make a little full moon talisman to safeguard me from all the craziness today. Remember those FIMO moons from December? One of them is front and center on the pendant of this necklace and is surrounded by silver wire, silver chain, several moonstone chips, and a potpourri of seed beads.
