Trinket #105 - Pearl and Silver Lariat Necklace

I think that lariat must be French for "easily tangled" because I succeeded in tying this necklace into knots not once, not twice, but THREE TIMES before capturing a suitable photo of it. The trinket was inspired by my recent trip to the past via family photos and the like. I hope to wear it with lots of 1920's and 1930's inspired dresses in the coming weeks.

Trinket #85 - Victorian Pearl Earrings

Still sick today, but feeling a little bit better. Regardless, my energy level and my focus are still certainly nowhere near normal, so you get earrings. More earrings. How many jewelry options are there, really? I'm sure that there are more than I've explored so far, but I'm still hunting for those rare and exotic specimens. Perhaps I should venture into the world of Fascinators (gasp!) or brooches. Hmmm... a topic to consider at another time, I suppose.

Speaking of another time, today's trinket has a nostalgic feel. Two simple freshwater pearls are suspended at the ends of petite gunmetal wires. I hope I can manage to wear these for more than an hour or two without losing one of them because I think they may have earned a place on my list of favorites.

Trinket #46 - Pearls and Glass

To redeem myself after yesterday's tacky trinket, I felt I needed to make something with a little more class today. I guess I'm a bit old fashioned, but nothing to me is classier than pearls.

My grandmother gave me a delicate string of 4mm ivory pearls when I turned 16 and it is secretly one of my very favorite necklaces, not that anyone would guess that because I've only ever worn them four or five times. I suppose I keep them reserved for special occasions, and those don't really come up much for a person who wears t-shirts and jeans everyday. Maybe I should make more of an effort to get them out of the jewelry box, even if it is just for the memories of the awesome lady who gave them to me.

So, there you have it. Today's trinket is a simple but stylish pair of earrings made from silver wire, glass seed beads, and freshwater pearls.
